The Finnish Competition Authority (“FCA”) has cleared the creation of a joint venture between Finnair Oyj (“Finnair”) and Finncomm Oy (“Finncomm”). Finnair is the parent company of Finnair group, which consists of several companies primarily active in scheduled air passenger traffic, leisure traffic and travel services. Finncomm is engaged in air traffic either directly or through shareholdings in companies active in the aviation sector. The joint venture, Finnish Aircraft Maintenance Oy (“FAM”), will provide aircraft maintenance services to domestic and foreign customers. The FCA concluded that the creation of the joint venture will not create or strengthen such a dominant market position that would significantly impede effective competition in the Finnish market or in any substantial part thereof.
