Italy’s antitrust regulator said on Monday it has renewed an inquiry to determine the size of a fine that Total Italia must pay for participating in a jet fuel price agreement with other energy companies.

In 2006 the regulator imposed a 8.86 million euro ($13.82 million) on the Italian unit of the French oil company for dividing up the local jet fuel market with other companies, including Italian units of Royal Dutch Shell and Italy’s Eni.

Later that year the regulator raised Total’s fine to 13.28 million euros.

But Italy’s administrative appeals court scrapped the fine in February this year after Total Italia challenged the regulator’s decision on procedural grounds saying it was not properly informed.

The regulator said in a statement it has resumed the inquiry and aims to finish it by the end of September. Total has 30 days to present its views.
